The Leca Block is Lika’s most important product in Iran. This block is made from a mixture of Leca lightweight aggregates, water, and a small amount of cement. To maintain the lightness of Leca blocks, fine natural aggregates are removed from the concrete, resulting in a final product with higher porosity compared to semi-lightweight concrete. The unit weight of a Lika block is less than 1,100 kg/m³, and its compressive strength is at least 30 kg/cm².
The wall thickness of Lika blocks is greater than that of ordinary cement-based blocks. Due to the very low weight of the concrete used, this increase in thickness has little effect on the block’s weight but significantly enhances its insulation properties compared to others.
Leca blocks are produced in various types for partition and perimeter walls and have a wide range of applications. They can be used for exterior cladding, partition walls, facades, double walls, insulation, fire-resistant structures, and lightweight concrete floors (joist and block systems).
